For adhesive lettering and vinyl plotting, we require vector data. The design is cut from colored film, so all elements must be created as clean paths.
As guidelines, we recommend:
- Letter height of at least 15 mm whenever possible
- Distance between individual paths of at least 2 mm whenever possible
- Line thickness or bridge width of at least 2 mm whenever possible
- convert all fonts to paths/outlines
- create all paths as closed shapes
- remove or merge overlapping paths
- avoid very fine serifs, points, and details
The smaller and more intricate a design is, the more difficult cutting, weeding, and application become. Especially for vehicle decals, lettering should be sturdy and easily readable from a normal viewing distance.
