Which racing stripes are right for my car?

How are racing stripes applied to a vehicle?

Which racing stripes are right for the vehicle?

Racing stripes significantly change a vehicle’s proportions. Centered double stripes emphasize the hood, roof and rear as one continuous line. Side stripes follow the vehicle’s contours and create a flatter, longer accent. The available surface, body lines and desired contrast are key factors.
Measure not only the overall length, but also each individual surface. Transitions between the hood, roof and rear, as well as windows, spoilers, antennas and washer nozzles, can interrupt the line. Plan in advance where the stripe should end or continue seamlessly.

Assess Color and Width Realistically

Strong light-dark contrast looks sporty and remains visible from a greater distance. Tone-on-tone combinations are more understated and respond more strongly to light. Test the width and spacing with paper strips or removable marking tape on the stationary vehicle.
Take recessed contours and pronounced curves into account when making your selection. Professional installation is recommended for complex surfaces or continuous application across several body panels.

Align Racing Stripes Straight and Care for Them Properly

The surface must be clean, dry and free of wax or oily residue. Mark the center line or desired spacing at several points. Work in sections and check the alignment before firmly pressing down larger areas.
Avoid installation on heavily heated paintwork or in cold, windy or damp conditions. Do not cut directly on the vehicle’s paintwork without protection. After installation, edges and transitions must be pressed down carefully and left to rest according to the product instructions.

Gentle Cleaning

Wash the vehicle after the recommended waiting time and treat the film edges carefully. Do not direct a pressure washer at the edges from a short distance. Aggressive polishes and unsuitable solvents can damage the surface or impair adhesion.
Check the stripes occasionally at tips, transitions and heavily used areas. Keep the product details, color and dimensions in case a section needs to be replaced later.
