Image files such as JPG, PNG, TIFF, or PSD are especially suitable for photos, gradients, and pixel-based designs. However, for logos, lettering, adhesive lettering, and contour-cut stickers, vector data is a better choice.
For JPG or JPEG files, you should use the highest available quality setting and the lowest possible compression. Heavily compressed images may appear blurry, blotchy, or pixelated when printed.
For PNG files: A transparent background does not replace a technically created cut contour or a white print layer. If your design is to be contour-cut or produced with white print, this information must be created separately and clearly.
For TIF or PSD files, we recommend:
- Reduce the file to the background layer
- Do not use alpha channels
- Do not use clipping paths
- Create the file at the appropriate scale
- Use a sufficiently high resolution
Important: Image files cannot be enlarged indefinitely without loss of quality. If a design is to be significantly enlarged for a vehicle sticker, a vector file is usually the better choice.
